Grand Theft Auto 5 launched in September 2013, making it nearly 12 years old. Originally released at the tail end of the PS3 and Xbox 360’s life cycle, it has since been ported to every PlayStation console generation. Although it is been over a decade since its launched, Rockstar Games’ critically acclaimed blockbuster hit continues to be on of PlayStation’s most downloaded games worldwide on a monthly basis.
Grand Theft Auto 5 is still in the top 5 downloaded PS5 & PS4 games worldwide
PlayStation announced its top downloaded PS5 and PS4 games for February 2025. Each of these charts is then categorized by regions “US/Canada” and “EU” (Europe). For the PS5 chart, Grand Theft Auto 5 was the fifth and fourth most downloaded game in the US/Canada and Europe respectively. For PS4, it ranked sixth in both specified regions.
