Split Fiction Creator Hazelight Studios Is Already Working On Its Next Project, Says Josef Fares

Hazelight Studios founder and Split Fiction director, Josef Fares, has revealed that the developer has already kicked off production on its next project, although it’s obviously still early days at this point.

Speaking with the Friends Per Second podcast, Fares revealed that he’s “fully focussed” on the new title, despite the fact Split Fiction hasn’t even been out for two weeks. As previously reported, Split Fiction has already sold two million copies in one week, so it’s been a huge success in a short period of time.

For me personally, every time a game is out, I’m kind of done with it. I’m kind of like. ‘OK, now it’s the next thing,’ but this has been a bit extra special because I would say that it’s been the best-received game we have done. But to be honest, everybody’s super happy, but I’m so fully focused and excited on the next thing that we already have started, just want to say that. So I feel super, super excited.

Fares added that “it’s quite early: and that Hazelight Studios kicked off work on the game around “a month ago. At Hazelight, we don’t work with games [for] more than three or four years, and I mean, three or four years is not so far away, then we’re gonna talk more about it,” he added.

Split Fiction is now available for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, and you can read our full review here.
