A PS3 classic might be making a comeback after 14+ years, if a new rating board entry is anything to go by. The Brazilian authority has rated something titled Plants vs. Zombies Reloaded, and the listing suggests that it could be a remaster of the award-winning original game.
PS3 classic Plants vs. Zombies could be headed to PS5
As spotted by Gematsu, the rating board entry for Plants vs. Zombies Reloaded lists its year of production as 2009, which is when the original game launched. The PS3 version, which was published by Sony Online Entertainment back then, launched in February 2011.
It’s possible that Plants vs. Zombies Reloaded is an entirely new game and the rating board’s mention of its production year refers to the series’ debut, but we’re leaning towards this being a remaster or a remake.
As for platforms, it looks like Electronic Arts has ditched last-gen consoles as the rating is specifically for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices. It’s a little odd that PS4 and Xbox One have been left out considering the game will be available on mobile devices, but we’ll get the full story when an official announcement is made.
We’ll update our readers when we have more information.
