Wes Johnson, who played some of the most beloved Elder Scrolls and Fallout characters, from Lucien Lachance to Sheogorath, Mister Burke, Hermaeus Mora, and the Oblivion guards, suffered a medical emergency last week after checking into his hotel room for the National Alzheimer’s Foundation in Atlanta.
The 62-year-old actor is now in critical condition and fighting for his life. To help cover the medical expenses, his family opened a GoFundMe page yesterday, calling on his fans to “unleash the fury – for the love of Wes Johnson”.
“He flew down and checked into his hotel room – but something happened and he didn’t make it out of the hotel,” the campaign’s description explains. “When he didn’t show up at the event, his wife [Kimberly Johnson] tried desperately to get in touch with him. It took hotel security to enter his room and discover him unconscious and barely alive. EMT crews struggled to find a pulse. Right now, Wes continues to battle for his life in an intensive care unit.”
Fans Raised 274 Percent Of The GoFundMe’s Goal In Just One Day
Set up by Bill Glasser, Kimberly Johnson, and Shari Elliker, the initial goal was to raise $50,000. But in just one day, the GoFundMe page far surpassed that number after many in the gaming community, as well as the Washington Capitals (of which he was a PA announcer for), rallied fans to come to Wes Johnson’s aid.
Thanks to their efforts, the GoFundMe campaign raised a staggering $138,000 overnight, a number that only grows by the minute.
In 2022, Wes Johnson helped to raise $120,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association in partnership with Fallout For Hope.
Over 2,000 people have donated so far, and many have also left heartfelt comments about what a “delightful” performance Johnson gave in their favourite games, helping them through similar hardships, while also reminiscing about fond memories of meeting the actor at conventions, telling of what a “great man” he is.
I don’t ask for much but please consider helping out Wes after a very sudden medical emergency. You’ll know him as MANY of the iconic voices behind Elder Scrolls and Fallout. He’s always been very sincere and genuine in our interactions. I hope he’ll be okay www.gofundme.com/f/unleash-th…

“Before I had played any game that Wes had voiced, seen any movie in which he was cast, or heard him in the Caps arena, I met him at my first MAGFest,” Adam Bullock wrote. “His irreverent humour is only matched by his love of family. He possesses an excitement and veal for life. You can beat this Wes!”
