Black Ops 6 Season 2 will begin on Tuesday, January 28 with a slew of new content for both multiplayer and Zombies, such as new weapons, maps, and returning modes like Gun Game. The second season continues the Zombies storyline with the addition of The Tomb, which takes place directly after the events of the Citadelle des Morts Zombies map. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Reveals Return of Two Classic Weapons for Season 2

With Season 2 on the horizon, developer Treyarch Studios reveals two classic weapons returning in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone.

Treyarch released several new screenshots of Black Ops 6’s The Tomb Zombies map to prepare fans for what’s to come on January 28. Firstly, players will start at the Dig Site, which is a large archeological area with strange glowing runes and paths leading to the Neolithic Catacombs and the Ossuary. While exploring the Neolithic Catacombs, Treyarch notes that players will notice what’s left behind of ancient cultures and civilizations, such as mysterious cave paintings. On the other hand, The Tomb map’s Ossuary area is dark and dreary with skulls of the dead and ominous bone piles and altars.

  • The Tomb Zombies map is made up of nine areas:

    • Dig Site
    • Neolithic Catacombs
    • The Ossuary
    • Tombs
    • Subterranean Temple
    • Deep Excavation
    • Shrine of the Hierophants
    • Doorway to Nowhere
    • Dark Aether Nexus

The new Black Ops 6 screenshots also highlighted the Tombs area, which has statues of ancient warriors lined up against the walls with depictions of shielded hoplites fighting against a charging bull. The architecture inside the Tombs is pristine, with sunlight shining into the area through a hole in the ceiling. Past the Tombs is the Shrine of the Hierophants, a candlelit and vaulted area that serves as the resting place for important figures from a bygone era. The shrine is the last stop before entering the Subterranean Temple and the Deep Excavation. These two areas are linked together within a vast cave, and scattered pillars encircle a strange place of worship.

Black Ops 6 players who survive in the Deep Excavation area can head even deeper to the Doorway to Nowhere and Dark Aether Nexus. Treyarch didn’t elaborate further on these areas yet, but it’s likely that the Dark Aether Nexus area will be the final destination for the map’s main quest, as the team is hopeful to release Samantha Maxis from her imprisonment in the Dark Aether. Players who have trouble completing the main quest in the standard Zombies mode may want to try out Directed Mode in Black Ops 6, since it caps the max round to round 15.

The Tomb will feature a new enemy called the Shock Mimic, creatures that disguise themselves as useful items and attack players with massive razor-sharp claws. The Shock Mimic can electrify players and disorient them with a distortion camouflage, which also disrupts the player’s radar. Powerful weapons like Black Ops 6’s Ray Gun should prove useful when fighting off the Shock Mimic, however. In addition, the fan-favorite PPSh-41 submachine gun returns alongside Black Ops 4’s Death Perception Perk-A-Cola.
