Mouthwashing was one of 2024’s critical indie hits for its gripping narrative, and soon, players on PlayStation will get their chance to experience what hundreds of thousands of players on PC already have.
Developer Wrong Organ and publisher Critical Reflex confirmed on Wednesday that not only has Mouthwashing surpassed 500,000 copies sold, there will be a PS5 version of the game arriving sometime later in 2025.
There will also be a physical copy available of Mouthwashing, coming from Fangamer. Pre-orders for the physical copies aren’t live yet, but you can sign up to be notified when they do go live.
Mouthwashing is a psychological horror game, played from a first-person viewpoint where you’re following the story of a space freighter crew that’s shipwrecked in an unknown location.
The ship will only have power and life support functions for six months, but food is going to run out well before that. The whole crew, including Captain Curly, is seemingly waiting to die.
But the crew dying isn’t what makes Mouthwashing a horror game. The horror is what happens in the meantime, and discovering what the crew is capable of.
