Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is a new dark adventure game from developer Big Bad Wolf Studio and publisher Nacon, announced during the Nacon Connect March 2025 showcase earlier on Thursday.
Set to arrive on PS5 and other current-gen platforms sometime in 2026, this Lovecraftian adventure takes place 27 years in the future from when the game is set to release in 2053, following the story of Noah, a man whose job it is to try and figure out what happened to some disappeared miners in the Pacific Ocean.
Dive deep into the prison R’lyeh, which just so happens to be at the bottom of the ocean. Unfortunately for Noah, being in the dark that deep into the ocean isn’t the only thing that he has to look out for.
With nothing more than an AI companion called Key by his side, Noah will have to battle the depths and Cthulhu’s influence if he wants to survive the ordeal. Developed on Unreal Engine 5, this game looks like it could be something quite special.
Unfortunately we didn’t get a proper look at gameplay with this reveal trailer, but hopefully we have a better idea of what it’ll play like before the end of the year.
