Summary
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has received impressive reviews, and now it has the sales to back that up too.
- The game’s Steam player peak reached almost 160,000 earlier today, surpassing the first game’s numbers by over 60,000.
- It also had Steam’s eighth-highest 24-hour peak player count, beating the likes of Stardew Valley and Red Dead Redemption 2.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is the first big release of what is looking like a pretty stacked February, and if all of them are as appealing, then we may be looking at an all-timer. Despite director Daniel Vavra focusing on a handful of mixed reviews, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 opened to a very impressive score on both Metacritic and Open Critic, as it appears to be a critical success.
However, we all know that even if a game reviews well, it doesn’t automatically mean it’s going to do well commercially. Thankfully, a backlash against the game’s same-sex romances did little to affect the game’s pre-order numbers, and we’re now seeing that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has managed to draw in a sizable crowd.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Launches With A Peak Of Almost 160,000 Steam Players
At the time of writing, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has a very impressive all-time Steam peak of 159,351 players, which is well over 60,000 more than the first game that launched back in 2018. We can probably expect that number ot rise too, as more people grab the game over the next few days and weekend to try it out.

That number is also the 8th highest 24-hour peak player count on the whole of Steam, topping the likes of Path of Exile 2, Stardew Valley, and Red Dead Redemption 2. Only the behemoth that is Grand Theft Auto 5 was the only non-free-to-play game above Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and none of this is even taking into account the game’s sales on consoles.
We shouldn’t see those numbers drop very far in the coming weeks either, given how much there is to actually do in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. In fact, if you’re a bit of a completionist and want to snag the platinum trophy on PlayStation, you’d best be prepared to sink a whopping 200 hours into the game. Meanwhile, I’ll be panicking trying to fit the rest of all the great-looking games coming this month into my schedule somehow.
