Elon Musk Admits to Boosting His Path of Exile 2 Account

Summary

  • Elon Musk admitted to boosting his Path of Exile 2 account, claiming it’s common practice in Asia.
  • Musk also confessed to using the same tactics in his Diablo 4 account, casting doubt on his gaming achievements.
  • Despite his ex, Grimes, vouching for his skills, doubts persist about Musk’s actual gaming ability.

Technology entrepreneur Elon Musk is finally confessing that his Path of Exile 2 account has been getting boosted, with an outright admittance in a recently posted video ending the saga of whether such tactics were being employed. Much to the chagrin of many in the Path of Exile 2 fandom, Musk not only acknowledged he’s been having his Path of Exile 2 account boosted, but that he has nothing to apologize for.

Questions began being raised on the subject of the Tesla and Twitter/X CEO’s Path of Exile 2 prowess when he was kicked from the game last December. Musk claimed that the reason he was booted from Path of Exile 2 was that he was performing too many actions within too short a time, thereby triggering the game’s anti-cheating software. Posting a screenshot to X, Musk claimed to not be using a macro, leading to gamers either feeling impressed or skeptical about the situation, with the latter now possibly correct in their suspicions.

Path of Exile 2 Could Use Three Big Changes to Improve Its Endgame

Path of Exile 2’s endgame is in a great state at the moment, but its endgame could use three big quality-of-life changes to truly shine.

Elon Musk’s admittance to boosting his Path of Exile 2 account comes by way of YouTuber NikoWrex, who went over his DMs with Musk in a recent video. When asked if he’s ever level boosted, which is defined as someone else playing the account, and/or purchasing gear/resources with real money, Musk posted a 100 emoji, saying it’s “impossible” to beat players in Asia otherwise, and that it’s something everyone does. He also admitted to these tactics with his Diablo 4 account, making Musk’s claim of being a top-ranked Diablo 4 player a largely baseless one.

In the full video, which can be found here, Musk asserts that he is at least the one playing during his streams. When asked if he would “apologize” to the Path of Exile 2 community, responded with “What would I be apologizing for?”

While his admission to boosting his Path of Exile 2 and Diablo 4 accounts confirms the many suspicions, some gamers doubted Musk’s gaming achievements from the beginning, with one big name being Asmongold. The Twitch streamer appeared skeptical of Musk’s Path of Exile 2 achievements from the beginning, asking the billionaire to provide proof he was a genuine player in exchange for streaming exclusively on X for a year. Musk instead leaked his DMs with Asmongold, while commenting that Asmongold isn’t good at video games. Asmongold responded to Elon Musk’s criticism, calling the response “uncalled for.”

Musk’s Actual Gaming Ability

While many seem to doubt Elon Musk’s aptitude for video games, he does have one person who will vouch for his abilities: his ex, music artist Grimes. The singer took to X recently to state that she witnessed Musk become the first American druid to clear Abattoir of Zir and finished top-ranked in the US for that season, as well as a few other gaming claims. While Grimes’ comments on Elon Musk’s gaming skills possibly lend some credence to his previous claims, the boosting of accounts obscures just how much of his supposed achievements are actually his.
