Endless Legend 2 Revealed, Launching In Early Access This Year

Summary

  • Amplitude Studios has announced Endless Legend 2, it’s first game after returning to independence.
  • Endless Legend 2 will launch in Early Access at some point in Early 2025, with an insiders program starting on January 30.

At the end of last year, Endless and Humankind developer Amplitude Studios took a brave step into the unknown by announcing that it had managed to return to independence for the first time in eight years, having broken away from Sega. It was an exciting time for Amplitude, and many wondered what the dev would do next with its newfound freedom.

Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait long to find out. Earlier today, Amplitude held its first anniversary live stream after returning to independence, in which it laid out its plans for the future. One of those plans was the announcement of Endless Legend 2, a sequel to the original game which launched all the way back in 2014, well over a decade ago.

Endless Legends 2 Revealed, Launching In Early Access This Year

A reveal trailer for Endless Legend 2 was shown off during the live stream (which you can see above), which features some story details and a bunch of gameplay footage. Just like the first, Endless Legend 2 is a 4X turn-based strategy game that will see you exploring the oceanic world of Saiadha, encountering new factions to build relationships with and obstacles to overcome.

Being an ocean world, Saiadha will constantly shift and change around you depending on the seasons, with massive tidefalls and changing water levels that will alter the surrounding landscape. Endless Legend 2 will also include a variety of different factions to choose from, which offer different strengths and playstyles, giving you a lot of bang for your buck.

The best part of this announcement is that you don’t even have to wait that long for the game to get here. A specific release date wasn’t announced during the trailer, but it was revealed that Endless Legend 2 will launch in early access at some point in Early 2025, so it should only be a few months at most.

If you’re the impatient sort and can’t wait even that short amount of time, Amplitude is giving fans the chance to try out the game early with an insider program. If you want to play the game as early as possible, you can sign up for the program via the sheet here, but be aware that you’ll need to adhere to an NDA, and that you aren’t guaranteed to get a spot. If you don’t get in, at least take solace in the fact the game isn’t that far away.
