Recently, Final Fantasy 14 rolled out Patch 7.16, a small update that added the conclusion of the comedic Dawntrail Role Quest series, plus a batch of balance adjustments for PvP. The patch marked the end of the 7.1 update cycle, meaning players are officially in the waiting room for Patch 7.2.

Now, fans can soon learn the first details about this next content update. Final Fantasy 14 recently announced the 85th Letter from the Producer LIVE – and the first of two covering Patch 7.2 – will take place on February 7, starting at 3 AM PST. The broadcast will feature slides with both English and Japanese text, but fans should be aware that there will not be live translation for the Japanese-only audio for this Live Letter.
Final Fantasy 14 Live Letter 85 (Patch 7.2 Part 1) Date
Based on previous trends, there are a few things players can expect to see during this Live Letter. A teaser for the Patch 7.2 Main Scenario Quests – likely including a new dungeon and trial – the second phase of the Arcadion raid, and a large-scale overhaul to Frontlines will all almost certainly appear in the broadcast. Final Fantasy 14 may add more Custom Deliveries and Allied Society quests, a continuation of the Hildibrand story that began in Patch 7.15, and the start of the Dawntrail Relic weapon questline in the update as well. What’s more, the highly-anticipated Cosmic Exploration lifestyle content and Shades’ Triangle field operation may finally get an official reveal, as they are probably coming in the next update.
While there are bound to be some surprises in the presentation, there are a few things that probably won’t show up in this Live Letter. The next leg of the Final Fantasy 11 collaboration raid doesn’t arrive until Patch 7.3, and the new Beastmaster limited job is likely coming to Final Fantasy 14 later this year in 7.4. Fans also won’t see too much in-game footage outside of screenshots for the 7.2 update until the Live Letter after this one.
Patch 7.2 will probably not get a release date during this Letter from the Producer, but players already have a decent idea when it will arrive. Patch Live Letters usually arrive between six and eight weeks before the update, and with a four-month release cadence, mid-to-late March is a safe bet for Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.2. Fans can expect to find out for sure during the 86th Letter from the Producer LIVE, which will probably arrive about two weeks before the update itself.
