Home Circuit Is 40 Percent Off For Cyber Monday

Key Takeaways

  • Nintendo has dropped the price of its Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit sets for Cyber Monday.
  • The sets, which usually cost $99.99, have been dropped to $59.99, likely for a limited time.
  • They include the game and the RC car and accessories that you need to create and drive around your own AR tracks.

Remember Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit? Apparently some of you do as at last count, the Nintendo Switch/Mario Kart RC bundle had sold 1.73 million units. If the $100 price tag initially put you off buying one of the more unique ideas Nintendo has had during the Switch era, perhaps you’ll rethink giving the latest Mario Kart game a go as Nintendo has knocked 40 percent off the sets for Cyber Monday.

Outside of being responsible for some of the greatest video game series and most iconic characters of all time, Nintendo is probably best known for its quirky ideas. I’ve got the Alarmo sitting alongside me right now as a constant reminder of that. One of its quirkier ideas during the Switch era was bringing Mario Kart into the real world via Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit.

Echoes Of Wisdom officially has a place on the complex Zelda timeline.

A Home Circuit set includes a Switch cartridge, a physical Mario Kart with either Mario or Luigi as its driver, and various accessories you need to use to create Mario Kart tracks in your own home, or wherever you want out in the world. Once the course has been assembled, you grab your Switch and the camera on the front of your kart beams the image ahead back to you while adding AR elements like item boxes and coins into the mix.

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit Sets Are Down To $59.99

That’s The Same You’d Pay For A Switch Game For A Lot More Than Just A Switch Game

Mario drives behind Bowser Jr. on a living room floor.

Since the set includes a lot more than just a Switch game, it naturally costs a lot more than just a Switch game. The cartridge being bundled with the kart and all of the other accessories you need to play it drives the usual price up to $99.99. However, if you pick it up on the Nintendo store right now through the links below, you can get Home Circuit for $59.99 which, if you think about it, is kind of like you’re getting the kart and accessories for free since the standard price for most first-party Switch games is $59.99.

Mario Kart Live Home Circuit

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit brings the classic racing game to your living room. Using augmented reality, you race radio-controlled karts around circuits you design in your own home, with video cameras transposing the action onto your Switch.

Both the Mario and Luigi versions of Mario Kart Live are available for 40 percent off, but it’s unclear how long the sets will be available for a reduced price. Nintendo usually lists when its sales ends and games will return to full price, but the Home Circuit store pages don’t have that detail listed. That might mean it’s a today-only offer, or it could mean they’re being recuided in price permanently. More likely the former than the latter since the old price with a line through it remains and because, well, this is Nintendo we’re talking about.
