GeoJelly from Source Byte is a colorful platformer in which you’ll have to jump your way to freedom as you try to escape from the lab. That’s it. OK, fine. Once you escape from the lab, you’ll have to escape from the basement. And once you’ve reached the basement, your next target will be the factory. Since you can’t just end up living at the factory, you’re going to have to find a way to go outside. The game offers over 50 levels for you to take on with an increasing difficulty curve that will challenge your skills.
You’ll get to learn the basics during the first handful of levels. You’ll control your blob with the left analog stick – or the D-Pad – as you press and hold it left or right to choose the general direction and strength of your next jump. This is important since you’ll have to pay attention to your overall trajectory so that you can avoid hazards while you work on collecting diamonds along the way. Diamonds are needed for unlocking additional levels. Worry not, as there are more diamonds than levels to unlock. But if you’re the type of gamer who likes to 100% games, then you’ll have to grab all diamonds!
As for the trophies, this game has a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy waiting for you. The list is split into a single Bronze trophy, the one Silver trophy, and 11 Gold trophies for you to work on. The objectives that you’ll need to keep in mind include jumping 100, 1,000, and 5,000 times, completing the lab, basement, factory, and outside areas, beating 5 levels without dying, collecting all diamonds in a level that has 5 or more diamonds, as well as a handful of secret objectives that I won’t be spoiling here.

It’s simple and to the point, reminding us of the classic mobile games with a minimalist presentation and pick-up-and-play controls, which means that, for this one, your mileage may vary. GeoJelly is out on PlayStation 5 with a $10.49 price tag. There’s also a PlayStation 4 version available as a separate purchase for $10.99.
