Pokemon Reveals New Additions To Its Uniqlo T-Shirt Range

Summary

  • Pokemon has revealed new t-shirt designs coming to Uniqlo.
  • The Sketch range includes seven new t-shirts – three for adults, three for kids, and one that will be available in all sizes.
  • There’s also a separate collection for babies that will include four unique designs of its own.

Uniqlo has a strong relationship with video games and gaming adjacent properties with the likes of Monster Hunter and The Legend Of Zelda represented in some of its more popular collections. It’s also been working with The Pokemon Company for several years and on Monday morning, Pokemon revealed some new t-shirt designs for adults, children, and even babies that will be arriving at Uniqlo this March.

Dubbed the Pokemon Sketch collection, the adults and kids sections have three new designs each with a fourth Pikachu design, the headliner in the new range, available for both grown-up and kid Pokemon fans. The t-shirt has a sleeping Pikachu on the front with “Pikachu is recharging” printed underneath it.

If your Uniqlo Monster Hunter t-shirt doesn’t look good, you’ve only got yourself to blame.

The black t-shirt in the adult sizes coming to Uniqlo has Umbreon on the back, and another design features all three forms of Meowth – original recipe in the middle with its Galar and Alola forms flanking it. Rounding out the adult sizes portion of the range is a green t-shirt with Mimikyu on the front, the words “Its actual appearance is unknown” printed directly beneath it.

Mimikyu’s appearance remaining unknown isn’t entirely true. How it looks underneath its Pikachu disguise was a part of 2024’s big Game Freak leak, although it’s unlikely what was revealed is really what’s going on under there.

While the Umbreon, Mimikyu, and Meowth t-shirts won’t be available in kids’ sizes, younger Pokemon fans will be getting three unique designs of their own. A light purple t-shirt with Gengar on the front and back, a blue design with Glaceon as the star, and the t-shirt I’m most jealous of not being available in my size featuring Ceruledge. There aren’t nearly enough officially licensed t-shirts with the armored Fire/Ghost-type on them.

While not a part of the same Pokemon Sketch collection, Uniqlo has also revealed a collection of t-shirts for Pokemon-loving babies too, or a range of designs for Pokemon parents hoping their babies grow up to love the series as much as they do. The baby t-shirt designs include Pikachu, Piplup, and one with the Paldean partner Pokemon’s faces printed all over it.

The baby and kids t-shirts will be 990 yen ($7) each while the adult sizes are 1,500 ($10) each and will be released this March. The t-shirts appear to be exclusive to Uniqlo Japan for now, although other collaborations, like the Final Fantasy range, have eventually been released in the US. If the new Pokemon t-shirts are released outside of Japan, they will likely cost closer to $30 than $10.
