Delays and PlayStation first-party exclusives go together like cereal and milk, albeit for good reason. Making a good video game isn’t the easiest job, and these extensions typically help the developers create the best game they can make. Hopefully this is the case for the company’s upcoming live-service title Fairgame$, which is reportedly delayed until 2026.
Noted insider claims PS5 exclusive Fairgame$ release shifted to 2026
In a recent episode of Game Mess Decides, host Jeff Grubb shined some light on the current situation with Haven Studios‘ competitive heist game. Although not much is clear, Grubb claims Fairgames is not releasing this year, and has been slid into next year.
“No Fairgame$ this year,” Grubb said. “As far as I’m aware, it has been pushed to 2026”
The reasoning behind the delay is still unknown. Grubb is typically pretty reliable when it comes to his sources and information, so there is probably some truth to his claims. However, there has yet to be a formal announcement about the Fairgame$ delay. We will just have to wait and see if and when Haven Studios announces the game’s new 2026 launch window.
Fairgame$ was originally revealed in 2023. Beyond Haven Studios reveal of its first new IP, not much has been shown of the upcoming heist game. However, former head of GamesIndustry.biz Chris Dring claimed he heard “good things” about the PlayStation exclusive during an episode of GI Microcast.
PlayStation’s live-service push hasn’t been its most successful initiative. While the company saw great success with Helldivers 2, its hero shooter Concord is widely considered one of PlayStation’s biggest flops in its long history. It was reported by Grubb that other live service projects were canceled due to Concord’s poor performance. Additionally, Sony is reportedly going to every studio and reassessing every project as a result.
