It looks like PSN is partially down for some users yet again, and although players are able to sign into the network, some services aren’t working properly. We first noticed a number of complaints on the PS Portal subreddit, where players reported that they weren’t able to stream games. Following this, more complaints regarding service issues cropped up.
PSN partially down on February 17/18, here’s what’s impacted
On both the PlayStation and PS Portal subreddits, initial complaints emerged several hours ago from users who were trying to stream games on the remote player. Apparently, the system cannot retrieve save files or other data from cloud storage.
Following this, some users complained that although they’re able to sign in, join parties, etc., they’re unable to log into multiplayer games including Fortnite. However, others say they managed to get in after several attempts.
A small number of users are saying that they can’t sign in at all or keep getting booted off the network.
We’ve seen enough complaints to deduce that this isn’t an isolated incident. However, the official PlayStation Network status page suggests that all services are up and running.
We’ll continue to monitor the situation. At the time of this writing, PSN doesn’t seem to be down completely. Here’s hoping the issues don’t worsen overnight.
