Striking Distance Studios Has Reportedly Laid Off ‘Most Of’ Its Developers


Striking Distance Studios, the developer behind The Callisto Protocol, has reportedly laid off a significant number of its staff, according to the LinkedIn profile of a number of now-ex staffers.

Jesse Lee, who served as a concept art director for Striking Distance Studios, posted that “most of the devs were laid off” at the studio, and follows a number of other posts from ex-staffs who worked in various roles that are now looking for work.

Back in August 2023, Striking Distance Studios confirmed that it had laid of 32 employees, and only a month later it was revealed that its founder, Glen Schofield, had departed the company.

Striking Distance Studios hasn’t officially announced its latest project, but has dropped plenty of hints about what it might be, including the fact it will be powered by Unreal Engine 5 and is likely to take the form of a multiplayer third-person action title.
