It isn’t uncommon for games to offer pre-order bonuses as an incentive for you to buy the game before it’s out. Synduality: Echo of Ada is no different, giving players some extra loot, and even early access to the game itself.
So, with the new PvPvE from Bandai Namco game available now, staff writer Hilton Webster has been playing away, and made a shocking discovery: you can lose your pre-order bonus mech if you’re killed. Worse still, because of how looting works, someone else could just steal it from you.

Hilton had a look into this for us, and sure enough, it’s perfectly possible to lose this extremely powerful mech, even if you pre-ordered the game to access it. They did note that there is an insurance system, but that the mech is so costly that you can’t afford to do this at the start of the game.
They also noted that you can earn back all of the parts for the mech on the battle pass. However, if you lose it again, it seems like it will then be gone for good, so that could be your second and last chance.
All in all, it’s an odd system and one that is likely to frustrate those who put down the money to buy the game early. In fact, the in-game economy is already being criticised by those in early access. On the whole, it seems that players are finding everything too expensive, and are frustrated by all the microtransactions in the game. As a result, Synduality has opened to mixed reviews on Steam ahead of its full launch.
Synduality: Echo of Ada will fully launch on January 23. It will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
