Capcom has announced that Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is set to release on May 16, 2025, for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch players. The compilation game that offers some of Capcom’s classic fighting titles is the sequel to 2022’s Capcom Fighting Collection, which came out to a positive reception.
A few years ago, Capcom marked the 35th anniversary of one of its most popular franchises, Street Fighter, with the release of Capcom Fighting Collection. This compilation enabled fans to relive their memories of playing vintage arcade games, such as Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors and Vampire Savior 2: The Lord of Vampire, on modern platforms. Now, the Japanese gaming giant plans to roll out its direct follow-up, Capcom Fighting Collection 2, giving players access to eight more old titles from different Capcom IPs. For longtime fans, this development continues an enjoyable run of re-released classics, having just received Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics in September 2024.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 recently revealed its May 16 launch date, alongside some pre-order bonuses. The classic games compilation that features a variety of Capcom’s fighting game franchises, such as Street Fighter, Capcom vs. SNK, and Power Stone, will offer those who pre-order any version of the game a pair of bonus songs that can be played exclusively in the game’s Museum mode. These tracks are “Soy Sauce for Geese” and “Rival Schools Medley” rearranged by the developer’s in-house sound team, CAP-JAMS. On the other hand, some pre-orders of Capcom Fighting Collection 2‘s physical edition will come with an original Capcom vs SNK-based comic, according to the official website.
Whether it be a re-release like Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics or a full-blown remake like 2023’s Resident Evil 4, Capcom has fallen back to existing games in its vast library in recent years. This strategy has proved fruitful for the Osaka-based developer, especially with its Resident Evil remakes becoming huge successes. Based on the strong performance of these games and Capcom’s goldmine of popular IPs, it seems reasonable for the Megaman creator to continue revisiting more of its vintage titles in the future.
In the latest move on this front, Capcom recently revealed that an Onimusha 2 remaster is currently in the works. The action-adventure game, which originally hit the shelves in 2002, is expected to arrive later in 2025. Interestingly, while the original title was a PlayStation exclusive, the remaster has been confirmed to change that.
